Is There any Science Behind Amethyst Healing, or It is a Placebo Effect?

December 01, 2019 Andrey Kipor

Hello!

I am Andrey, the founder of Ereada Corp.

Often, we receive questions about the heated crystals' powers and related literature and studies.

In 2014 I was skeptic about the warming amethyst mats and shocked by their high prices.

It was so until I tried the Richway Biomat Mini for the first time. I suffered from the injured nerves in both elbows (carpal tunnel syndrome), knee and hand surgeries after several accidents, chronic back pain, and several other issues.

It was amazing how the bio-mat helped me so much that I changed my mind. I left the well-paid CEO position and invested all savings in establishing this family-owned business and getting a challenging work 24/7/365.

But I'm happy when I learn that it helps other people!

Sadly, it does not work for all. Happily, it works for most of us. Is it a placebo? Yes and No.

The crystals' energies are a part of Alternative, Complementary, Integrative, Holistic, and Traditional Asian Practices. Modern medical science does not study or support the use of crystals themselves. Still, researchers found that some of the effects of heated crystals such as infrared rays have multiple benefits.

As for the placebo effect, it is essential even in scientific medicine. We must trust our health professionals and drugs to make them work fine.

And contrary, when we set our mind that the pharmaceuticals, devices, or procedures will not work for us, probably it will not bring any benefits. Proper setting and belief are necessary to get benefits from any treatment. They are essential in everyday life, as well.

Amethyst is a beautiful semi-precious crystal with a long history of use in both Eastern and Western cultures. It is not so rare now as it was long ago. In the past, it was one of the five primary gemstones together with Diamond, Ruby, Emerald, and Saphire.

Nowadays, significant deposits and new mining technologies in South America dropped the prices. But still, the crushed and polished natural non-painted, non-treated grade "A+" amethyst can reach $15-20 per pound. It constitutes a significant part of the cost of our products. Other manufacturers can buy lower quality crystals at a lower price. They suppose it is not a jewel industry, and the grade of gems may not be so crucial for warming sessions.

But it is essential for the setting. We must be sure that we get the best quality, 100% natural, visually appealing crystals. We pay an extra premium price for the best materials and know that our Korean supplier does not cut costs. It helps to set the mind in the right way.

The Amazon bestseller "Crystals for Beginners: The Guide to Get Started with the Healing Power of Crystals" https://www.amazon.com/Crystals-Beginners-Guide-Started-Healing/dp/1623159911 is an excellent guide to introduce the world of crystals.

The double-blind researches (when both the scientists and test persons do not know which pill, device, or process is a real one and which one is fake) would be required to make it a part of evidence-based medicine. Currently, we can only speak about some limited pieces of evidence or personal experience.

It is hidden among many articles, books, and reports about the heated stones applications. We do not make any health claims or cite scientific studies to sell our products. But you can find many articles (or links) on the competitors' websites such as https://www.thebiomatstore.com/biomat-scientific-studies.

Most of these articles are about FIR heating benefits, but some of them describe the crystal rays effects as well.

The test protocols of the heated amethyst mat use indicate that the test person's temperature kept elevated for 6 hours after a half-hour session.

There is a lot of data in the literature about the amethyst biomat use (Bio-mat is the Richway's (R&L) brand product). Our Classic Brown Ereada® mattress is comparable to biomat products using similar technologies.

Our Gray Bio-Magnetic PEMF and Purple PEMF Photon mats offer more features, all combined in one warming amethyst bed.

PUBMED is a free educational resource developed by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM), and National Institutes of Health (NIH). It is a searchable database of medical and scientific articles with the latest news about emerging medical treatments and healing technics from worldwide sources.
