Negative Ions (Anions)
Negative ions are fast-moving electrical particles that cleanse and purify the air. They also increase oxygen flow to the brain, resulting in higher alertness and more mental energy. Thus, people feel fine, healthy, and energetic in such areas.
In contrast to our modern surroundings, our homes and offices are full of harmful positive ions, also called cations or free radicals. Air pollution and electromagnetic fields generated by cell phones, electronic wires and devices, and modern construction materials produce these ions.
So, the name "Positive" is deceiving here, as only negative Ions can enhance wellness. The absence of negative ions in our environment and lack of exposure to them can depress our spirits, decrease productivity, and make us feel sick and tired.

Negative Potential
NEGATIVE POTENTIAL is the most effective technology for introducing anions.
Brown Ereada® FIR Amethyst Mats produce negative ions through a direct current that emits 600 volts of negative potential at low speed through the silver fiber negative ion generation layer.Â
The controller's negative Ion button activates these mats' Silver Fiber Negative Potential function. When active, the HVDC (High-Voltage Direct Current) is transferred from the controller into the special N.P. Silver Fiber layer. This creates a High-Voltage Electrostatic Field with 600 volts of Negative Potential at low speed.
Although it uses a high voltage, there is no danger because no electrical current flows. The Silver Fiber system interacts with DC energy (similar to an AA battery). It converts the potential field surrounding the mat surface into a negatively charged field.
When the body is sunk into this Negative Potential bathtub, the positive ions convert into negative Ions everywhere, both outside and inside, and free radicals are neutralized quickly.

Air Ion Function
The Purple and Gemstone Ereada® mats lack the Direct Current Negative Potential (N.P.).
However, like all other Ereada® Amethyst mats, they have unique Negative Ion generation layers to conduct the anions directly.
In addition, the controllers of the Purple and Gemstone mats are supplied with the built-in air ionization function using the working principle of the “Thunder and Lightning" phenomena, which naturally produce negative ions.
The generating of ions starts for 1 hour when you press the “Ion” button. The controller has a light that indicates the negative ions are being generated.Â
When the function is active, the controller uses pulse and oscillating electrical equipment to convert electricity to negative DC high voltage (2000 v). Then, it uses sophisticated HVDC (High-voltage direct current) to generate high corona discharge, releasing large numbers of electrons that convert into anions in the air.
The releasing amount is about 40-50 million negative ions per second. These anions are mainly absorbed while breathing.
